Description
Tom’s Hunting Knife – 12C27 (Light weight)
This knife is my own deign and is inspired by 3 American Knives. The Bark River – Fox River and their Fox River Ext 2. Both of these knives have a great feel to them as hunting knives and can be utilised for bushcraft purposes. The 3rd knife is the White River Hunter which is also a very nice knife. My Hunting Knife is probably a cross between those 3. I made this Hunting Knife knife using 12C27 stainless steel that has been heat treated to 59 Rockwell by RJ Heat Treatment in Sydney.
Sandvik 12C27 is Sandvik’s most well-rounded knife steel with excellent edge performance allowing razor sharpness, high hardness, exceptional toughness and good corrosion resistance. With a hardness range of 54-61 HRC, high toughness, scary sharpness and good corrosion resistance, Sandvik 12C27 is the recommended grade for hunting knives, pocket knives, camping knives, high-end chef’s knives and tactical knives.
This particular knife has a scandi convex grind with a heat treat finish.
The handle scales are a particularly nice piece of Dark Gidgee with Black G10 liners. The pins are Brass.
The sheath is hand made from Premium English Bridle Leather and is wet formed. The Leather comes from Thomas Ware and Sons in the UK.
